This website is operated by Wessel Ranch, Inc., which may also be referred to publicly as Wessel Ranch.
By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use.
This website may be used to:
Provide information about Wessel Ranch, Inc.
Describe our cattle and ranching practices
Advertise beef ownership shares
Accept beef reservation inquiries
Provide agricultural education
Conduct surveys
Share photographs, updates, and contact information
Website content is provided for general informational, educational, and promotional purposes.
Submitting a form, survey, email, text message, or reservation request does not automatically create a contract, guarantee availability, or require Wessel Ranch, Inc. to accept an order.
A beef reservation is accepted only after Wessel Ranch, Inc. confirms availability and any required ownership, deposit, payment, processing, or purchase arrangements have been completed.
Wessel Ranch, Inc. may decline or limit a reservation when necessary because of:
Animal availability
Processing capacity
Transportation limitations
Legal requirements
Customer location
Requested share size
Requested finishing method
Failure to make a required payment
Other practical or business considerations
Wessel Ranch, Inc. may offer whole, half, quarter, eighth, or other approved ownership shares of live cattle.
For beef processed under the custom exemption:
The customer must acquire ownership of the animal or ownership share before slaughter.
The finished beef is intended for the owner, members of the owner’s household, and the owner’s nonpaying guests.
Packages must be marked “Not for Sale.”
Custom-exempt beef cannot legally be resold, traded, bartered, or donated.
Restaurants, retailers, caterers, food trucks, and other commercial customers require separate arrangements using legally appropriate inspected processing.
The website’s general information does not replace any separate beef reservation agreement, ownership agreement, processor paperwork, invoice, or purchase agreement.
If a separate written agreement conflicts with these general website Terms, the more specific written agreement controls the applicable transaction.
Every weight, price, yield, date, age, processing time, aging period, freezer-space estimate, feed cost, delivery estimate, finishing estimate, or other number displayed on this website is provided only as a general planning estimate unless expressly guaranteed in writing by Wessel Ranch, Inc.
Actual results may be higher, lower, earlier, later, or otherwise different.
Livestock are living animals, and results may be affected by:
Animal growth and health
Live weight and dressing percentage
Feed and forage conditions
Weather
Processor availability
Hanging and aging loss
Cutting instructions
Trimming and deboning
Transportation
Delivery or shipping
Equipment or facility delays
Events outside Wessel Ranch, Inc.’s reasonable control
Visitors and customers should confirm current prices, availability, policies, and estimates directly with Wessel Ranch, Inc. before relying on them.
Prices, deposits, processing charges, delivery costs, shipping costs, and other fees may change.
Unless otherwise stated:
A reservation deposit is credited toward the final Wessel Ranch, Inc. purchase price.
A deposit is not an additional charge on top of the stated animal price.
Final prices may depend on actual hanging weight.
Processing may be charged separately.
Delivery, shipping, special finishing, extended feeding, alternative processing, and special requests may involve additional charges.
Final payment must be made as agreed before the beef is released, delivered, shipped, or picked up.
Any cancellation and refund policy presented during reservation or included in a separate agreement becomes part of that transaction.
Cattle and beef-share availability may change at any time.
An animal shown as available may become reserved, unavailable, unsuitable, delayed, injured, ill, or otherwise unable to complete the expected program.
Wessel Ranch, Inc. may substitute another suitable animal, offer a later reservation, refund amounts paid, or make another reasonable arrangement when an expected animal cannot be provided.
No animal or ownership share is guaranteed until Wessel Ranch, Inc. confirms the reservation.
Wessel Ranch, Inc. may coordinate custom processing through Ryan Grocery and Processing, Inc. in Jordan, Montana, or another qualified processor approved in advance.
Processing schedules, aging periods, available cuts, packaging options, ground-beef ratios, specialty products, and other services are controlled in part by the processor.
Wessel Ranch, Inc. will make reasonable efforts to communicate customer requests, but cannot guarantee that every cutting, aging, packaging, or special-processing request will be available or completed exactly as requested.
Customers are responsible for reviewing and submitting cutting instructions by the required deadline.
Pickup, delivery, transportation, or shipping must be arranged and confirmed.
Customers are responsible for:
Providing accurate contact and destination information
Being available at the agreed time
Having adequate freezer space
Promptly placing frozen beef into suitable cold storage
Paying applicable transportation or shipping charges
Following any laws applicable in their state or location
Wessel Ranch, Inc. is not responsible for spoilage, thawing, loss, theft, or damage occurring after the beef has been transferred to the customer or the customer’s selected carrier, except to the extent caused directly by Wessel Ranch, Inc.’s proven failure to follow an agreed responsibility.
Shipping may not be available to every address or state.
